Sixth Annual Kenya-USA Bi Continental Run

Shoreham, Long Island and Meru, Kenya

The 6th annual Bi Continental Run went off on April 25, with rainy conditions on both continents. The Kenyans won again and keep the trophies for another year.

Ben Hawkins, our American gold medalist, completed the rain soaked 5K in 20:02

High School student Jessica Whelan, our fastest female, covered the course in 23:04.

Chief guest Narrahsan Muguna sheltered himself from the rain as the race was about to begin.

The race begins; Kenya Methodist U. runner Nathan Mathege (center) won with a time of 14:28.

Fridah Kaimuri (center) was the female winner, with her time of 17:01.

Hope Children's Home director Joe Kirima, and Brenda Mwendwa, our smallest orphan, led the walkers after the start of the race.
